Nobu Matsuhisa is widely regarded as one of the most influential Japanese chefs of our time. His success may appear to have come overnight but is in fact the result of years of perseverance and personal challenges. After receiving classic training in Japan, Nobu developed his distinctive sushi-making style in Peru, Argentina, Alaska, and Los Angeles, where he eventually opened his own restaurant. A pivotal encounter with actor Robert De Niro launched him on a path to extraordinary success, allowing his intimate and ever-evolving culinary creations to reach diners across the globe.
Directed by Matt Tyrnauer, Nobu premiered at the 51st Telluride Film Festival and will screen at Tribeca this spring.
